2025 Ramadan Lecture: Muslim faithful urge to be perseverance, commitment, and harms given.

Islamic clerics and politicians under the All Progressives Congress, APC, Lagos State chapter has urged Muslim faithful to be preservance, enduring,committed and given harms.

They also urged them to use the Ramadan period to pray for the progress of the country, pursue peace, love their neighbors, and shun corruption.

They spoke at the 2nd Ramadan Public Lecture organised by the Lagos chapter of the All Progressives Congress APC held on Thursday at the party’s secretariat, Acme, Ikeja.

While reminding Muslim faithful of the importance of Ramadan, the Lagos Chairman of the APC, Cornelius Ojelabi said it is a period to show love and peace to one another and urged Muslims to use the fasting period to pray and support President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda.

“Islam mandates us to show love to one another and live in peace with our neighbors.You are expected to contribute to our society. I am calling on our people to take advantage of this period to promote stability in our country.

Nigeria is our country, so let us join hands with the government to make it grow. Let’s show commitment to the renewed hope agenda of President Tinubu. His government has shown courage to lay a solid foundation for our progress, so let us eschew corruption and selfishness,” Ojelabi urged.

In his lecture titled ‘Holding unto our faith in this perilous time’, Amir Ikhwan Awwal said the current economic hardship Nigeria is going through is a perilous time for Nigerians

He noted that many of the challenges facing the country were caused by human factors and can only be solved by Nigerians themselves. He urged Nigerians, especially politicians, to show contentment in what they do.

The Islamic cleric further urged the people to hold on to their faith in God in spite of the challenges the country is facing. He commended President Bola Tinubu for what he has done within a short time since he became president.

Abubakir Mohammed Solaty, while speaking on the topic ‘Ramadan in the modern world;’ Challenges and opportunity for Muslims,’ said political and religious leaders should think more about the people than themselves.

He expressed dissatisfaction with politicians who abandoned the people after getting political posts and urged them to use the fasting season to have a rethink and make the welfare of the masses their priority.

The Commissioner for Home Affairs Ibrahim Layode, who represented Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, alcohol urged the Muslim faithful to use the period to pray for the state, the governor and the President.
