Oyo APC Crisis Deepens, As Police Prevented Unity Forum From Holding Meeting

The crisis rocking the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC seems to have assumed a serious twist as men of the Nigeria Police, Ojongbodu condoned off the premise LA Primary School, Idi Open, Oyo, the traditional venue of the weekly local government meeting of members across all the wards of the council area.

The newly elected executive officers and teeming members of the party one of the other got to the entrance of the school found the gate being locked with a van of police seen inside the school compound with fierce looking officers not ready to entertain enquiry from the dismayed party faithful.

It was learnt that the development was as a result of leadership tussle between the two major groups in the party, SENACO; Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s side and Unity Forum; a conglomeration of protégés of former Governor Lam Adesina, PDP reformed, CPC and others.

Also, It was gathered from a reliable source that the effort was a ploy to frustrate Unity Forum which is believed to be the domineering group in the four local government areas in Oyo town from making head ways after the successful election of its excos across the ward and local government levels.

After a frantic effort, investigation revealed that the deployment of police was facilitated by one Mr. Bisi Oladeji who is said to be Chairman of a local government area in the metropolis on the directive of the Governor Abiola Ajimobi to cripple activities of the faction of the party from thriving.

As at the time of filing this report, angered members of the party are still contesting the right to use the venue as many maintained that the ongoing development in the configuration of APC executives has sent down jilter in the spine of Governor Abiola Ajimobi and his supporters who have sensed outright defeat in the scheme of party with the conduct of the last congresses in the state.
