In a few weeks’ time, he will fully deploy these good qualities in his capacity as the Chief Executive Officer of one of the most organized and tactical governorship campaigns in recent memory.
Ayinde, a security expert and property consultant, turned politician will be working with a crack team of other professionals to deliver Sanwo-Olu, the highly popular technocrat who is seeking to succeed the current governor, Akinwumi Ambode at Lagos House. Even the candidate and the All Progressives Congress, APC’s teeming supporters know that they are in safe hands. Some weeks ago, during the primaries to elect candidates for the various positions, Ayinde shone like a thousand stars with the superlative performance with the entry of Sanwo-Olu as the candidate.
So, the DG is on a familiar terrain again. For those who may not know, Ayinde was very visible in the build-up to the torrents of endorsements prior to the direct primaries that led to the emergence of the Sanwo-Olu. In fact, the ratification culminated with the support from all the Wards and Local Government Chairmen of the party, chairmen of 57 Councils and 377 Councilors, market women and their leaders, religious and cultural groups and all the relevant stakeholders.
Ayinde who is nicked name Bufallo by his admirers in political circle is a good party man and this will work in his favor as he markets his candidate. As a reliable aide to the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he is sure to inherit the leader’s impregnable political structures, political appeal and goodwill. Before going into politics, Ayinde had served Tinubu when he was governor of Lagos State as Chief Security Detail for eight years. Aside attending Cambridge and other institutions outside the country, Ayinde also has the necessary exposure from schools and colleges in Nigeria.
