Oyo state government has debunked a fake news going viral on social media that it has purportedly declared reopening of places of worship (churches and mosques) describing the story as fake news and did not emanate from the government of Oyo state.
The Chief Press Secretary to Oyo state governor, Mr Taiwo Adisa, in a brief statement made available to journalists via a whatsapp group warned members of the public and Oyo state residents to beware of fake news.
“I need to alert our people in Oyo state to beware of purveyors of fake news. A statement purportedly credited to Gov Makinde asking Mosques and churches to resume activities is false and unknown to us.
“This is the height of their low, its fake news at its worst.” Adisa said.
