TWB DONATES TREATED MOSQUITO NETS, PROVIDES FREE MEDICAL OUTREACH IN YEANGOA METROPOLIS

 

In pursuance of Teachers Without Borders (TWB) Corporate Social responsibility in supporting the less privileged and vulnerable in the society, TWB undertook two days intensive free drugs presentation and donation of treated mosquito nets penultimate Thursday.

 

The Bayelsa State Executive Director of the reputable non-governmental organisation in bridging the education divide, Hon. (Amb.) Philip Jeremiah Eke, the organisation expressed happiness of the great turn-out, Eke further disclosed that over one hundred and fifty treated mosquito nets were presented free in different designated centers, notably, at Swali, Amarata, Ovom, Kpansia, while drugs such as Malaria, anti-biotic, testing of high blood pressure, among others were administered to patients.

 

While fielding questions from newsmen, one of the beneficiaries of the free drugs outreach, Mr. Oweikeme John, thanked the leadership of Teachers Without Borders and the entire members, especially the medical team and the state Director, Hon. Philip Eke for the great support, stressing that the help will go a long way in saving many lives, while urging them to undertake frequent exercises, noting that other viable non-governmental organizations should emulate the great gestures of Teachers Without Borders international Bayelsa State Chapter, in complementing the activities of government.

 

He equally noted emphatically that, it was the first time he was having contact with members of Teachers Without Border, (TWB) stressing that Teachers Without Borders Bayelsa State is a house hold name, especially, in the mass media in advocating qualitative education and good governance, so John added.

 

Eke in addendum, highlighted that soonest educational materials would be distributed free to selected primary and secondary schools in Bayelsa State, while thanking Hon. Gentle Emelah, Commissioner of Education, Hon. Watson Belematei, Commissioner for Community Development, the Executive Secretary, Education Development Trust Fund (EDTF) Dr. Mrs. Alice Atuo, Dr. Wisdom Soreh, Rector, Bayelsa State Polytechnic Aleibiri, Dr. Ebiwari Wariowei, Engr Alamieyeseigha Godknows Salo, Director, NDDC Bayelsa State, Dr. Michael Amaegberi, Hon. Richard Ibegu, member Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Senator Benson Konbowei, Senator Representing Bayelsa West, Prof Nimibofa AyaweI, Secretary Bayelsa State Government,  and other strategic advisers, that have supported financially, morally in moving Teachers without Borders International Bayelsa State to a household name and enabling us supporting the vulnerable in the society.
