The beleaguered Logo local government council of Benue State was in the early hours of yesterday, attacked by herdsmen, leading to the death of 11 persons.
The renewed attack came barely six days after Fulani herdsmen attacked five communities in Guma and Logo local government councils, leaving more than 20 persons dead.
A source disclosed that the latest incident took place in Tombo village, even as an eyewitness account had it that the attackers came to Ukemberagga/Tsewarves, Tse Toradi, all in Tombo community in Mbagber ward of Gaambe-Tiev in logo local council.
Another source claimed that the marauders launched the attack at about 11pm on Friday, which lasted till 5am yesterday.
Spokesman of State Police Command, ASP Moses Yamu, disclosed that only four persons were killed, adding that the ugly incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday when the villagers were asleep.
It was gathered that the herdsmen invaded the village, destroyed houses and shot indiscriminately.
