The new Passport Comptroller Officer (PCO) according to a reliable source is a highly experienced and deligent officer. This shows in the ongoing re-organisation in the Passport Office, Ikoyi to purge bad eggs, who have turned the Immigration Office into home of making money illegally.
A thoroughbred Adegoke has taken his job in line with the President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti corruption stance through his pro-active policy. This has not gone down well some power brokers in the Passport Office, Ikoyi.
It was learnt that it is now a sin for any senior officer not to attend Monday morning management meeting where the previous week’s activities will be reviewed. This policy is strange to most of the officers in the Office.
Insider source told Integrityreporters that the new Passport Comptroller Officer (PCO) is a team player. For instance when a circular was sent from the Immigration Headquaters in Abuja that no new passport sholud be processed for the next two weeks, the circular was date 14th Match, 2017, the PCO intimated every officer including other ranks which was not the usual practice before his arrival. Insider says, a lady inspector called Juliet, who thought that it was business as usual, violated the directive, she got her finger burnt.
One of the officers who preferred anonymity informed that if all leaders are like the new PCO, it means that there is great future ahead for Immigration Services and Nigeria as a whole.
