A Rising Star

The recent promotion by the Police Service Commission and the Inspector General of Police, Mr.Kayode Egbetokun to deserving police officers of the Nigeria Police Force came as a relief as some men and women of the civilian populace had long awaited and anticipated the move because of some public officers who merited the exercise.
It was not a surprise when the name of Mr Akinwunmi Oke surfaced from the long list of names of officers due for promotion. He has been a front-runner in the safety of lives and property of residents of the Lagos Metropolis for close to a decade, serving meritoriously in Lagos Rapid Response Squad, RRS, under the leadership and tutelage of disciplined police bosses such as the present Principal Staff Officer to Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu and the effervescent crime-buster, Yinka Egbeyemi.
Akinwunmi Oke has served in various capacities of the police functions and has worked tenaciously to attain his current rank, Chief Superintendent of Police. In a post on his social media handle, he attributes the achievement to God, his family, and members of the public and promised to give his best to the society as he continues to carry out his functions using all tenets of the constitution of the Federal Republic, while also, giving cognizance to human rights.
CSP Akinwunmi Oke is the Head of Operations of the Lagos Rapid Response Squad.
