……….Says Brake Failure Caused the accident
King Air Jet rammed into a fence at the General Aviation Terminal of the Lagos Airport on Friday morning at about 10am at a tarmac beside Bristow Helicopters. The jet at the time of the incident had no passage on board except the pilot who was trying to repark the jet.
A spokesman for the Accident Investigation Bureau, Tunji Oketumbi, confirmed the accident to newsmen and further said that efforts are in place to ascertain the cause of the accident and also to see the possible solution to prevent future occurrence.
Oketumbi said the bureau had sent its investigators to access the level of damage as of press time.
“We have been notified of an accident that occurred at the local airport and our investigators have gone there to commence investigations,” he said.
However, it was gathered that brake failure caused a private charter airline, King Air Jet, to ram into a fence while the pilot was repacking it and the pilot suffered no injury.
