BABA IJEBU @90.: Baba Adebutu Surprises with N4b Donation at 90th Birthday Symposium

Accompanied by his children, Sir Kesington Adebutu walked into the venue of the symposium organized in celebration of his 90th birthday, at the palace of Alaperu of Iperu Remo, as part of many of the events lined up for his birthday, which falls on October 24th, 2025. The symposium was an august gathering of Remo kings, chiefs, friends of the celebrant, and family members, aimed at giving an account of Papa Adebutu’s chronicle and relating how his life has been a catalyst for development.
The symposium, moderated by Dr. Yemi Ogunbiyi, featured notable speakers, like Olusina Sofola SAN, Prof. Ebun Oduwole, and Barr. Owookalade, all of whom shared their personal experiences with Baba Adebutu and narrated how he has used his wealth to bridge the gap between the poor and the rich, showcasing his unwavering support for humanity.
When Baba Adebutu was called to give his speech, he was delighted to see himself being honored by his people. He said, ‘I will surprise you all for this honor,’ and in appreciation of the organized symposium, he announced a donation of 4 billion naira, comprising 3 billion naira for all the local governments in Remo land, with an additional 1 billion naira specifically allocated to Iperu Remo, his hometown, for any project proposed by the people.
Beyond the cuisine, pallete of colours, fashion and class, Baba Adebutu found the need to give back to the people and in an extraordinary manner , he promised to continue giving back to the society
