Bode George, the Atona of Yorubaland is a man who has traversed my thorny roads in his life. He has been unjustly abused and vilified by those whom he fought for and the ungrateful elements he suffered for.
The Yoruba pathfinder has always defended the cause and the interest of the Yoruba people. He has been maligned and traduced upon for his insistence on equity and fair play. The Atona is an unswerving nationalist who believes in the supremacy of the national union. His instinctive ability to make friends across the national divide has earned him the trust and support of all passionate patriots across our nation.
The Atona was persecuted for his strong beliefs in protecting the Lagosian heritage. Because of his unwillingness to compromise and sell Lagosians into slavery, they cooked up a dastardly plot that hounded him into undeserved incarceration. But the justice of God has now totally redeemed his image like a new born with the Supreme Court historic judgement which discharged and acquitted him. Bode George had made Governors, ministers, ambassadors, commissioners, legislators and so many more. An astute politician and a totally detribalized Nigerian, he is the architect of the laudable concessions given yo minorities in Lagos which earned us victories from Oshodi-Isolo to Amuwo. But somehow those who benefited from this kind hearted leader always pay him back with a bad coin. Bode George is experienced, knowledgeable, alert and quick on his feet.
He is a great administrator and an excellent team player. He knows all the intricacies of the party machinery, after having spent 10 years in the highest echelon of our party. The Atona is calm, humble, decisive, meticulous, fair and just. He is the right choice to lead our party in this period of divisive emergency. He is humble enough to stretch out his hands of reconciliation to the people on the opposite side of the divide. For him this is not a do or die fight. He believes that in the end the will of God will prevail.
