Chief Olabode Ibiyinka George, a former Deputy National Chairman emerged yesterday as the consensus candidate of the South-West. In an emotion filled room at Akure Civic center, George was praised for his team-building approach to problem solving .
The two South-West governors of the People’s Democratic Party, Dr Olusegun Mimiko and Mr Ayodele Fayose , both spoke eloquently of George’s contribution to the growth of the party.
Leaders after leaders spoke glowingly of George’s expertise in party administration, his rich experience and his deep knowledge of the intricacies of the party mechanisms.
George was humble in victory and promised to stretch out the olive branch of reconciliation to everyone in order to bring the party back to it’s winning ways.
Scores of stakeholders from across the South-West have a unanimous nod of approval Yo George’s selection. Among them were Alhaji Yekin Adeojo, Chief Shuaib Oyedokun, Chief Ebenezer, Babatope, Chief Joju Fadairo, Senator Teslim Folarin,Hon Dare Adeleke, Ashiwaju Ojeshina among several others.
