A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Kwara State, Barrister Kunle Suleiman has said President Mohammadu Buhari will massively win in the state come 2019 general election.
Speaking with newsmen in Ilorin, Suleiman who is the pioneer chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara said the chances of Buhari is brightest now in the state because of the dimmed popularity of Dr. Bukola Saraki in the hearts of the people.
Saraki; the Senate President he said of late took a political somersault by leaving the ruling party that had over the garbed his family in a robe of popularity and no only that, positioned himself as an unhealthy opposition to the central government.
“The Saraki’s have always deployed the machinery of government to rig and manipulate elections but this time around, the government in Kwara State is grossly unpopular and it has lost the mask of federal government that they had used for years to do this.
“We will teach PDP that Bukola now belongs a very serious lesson come 2019 . I know of a fact that PDP and its leadership cannot win any election without rigging.
“Bukola will lose to Yahaya Oloriegbe in the Senatorial election in February 2019. The issue now is the revolution by the toiling masses and the downtrodden of Kwara. Bukola’s possible repentance now cannot help him again.
“It is too late in the day for him to beg. Poverty is starring people in the face. This is the time to push the boys away from the streets. This is the time to prove ourselves as genuine Kwarans. We cannot allow the opportunity to slip through our fingers.
“Our gubernatorial candidate has said all stolen money and properties of Kwara will be recovered and we have set the machinery in motion.
“As usual, when they lose, they find excuse like they are diong in the case of recent bye-election in Kwara South. Their time is up. We will floor Saraki devastatingly. Buhari will carry the day at the polls in Kwara come 2019”.
The APC chieftain who is one of the backbones of the party’s governorship candidate; Mr. Abdulrahman Abdulrazak said like some northern states that declared for Buhari lately, Kwara too is sure for him (Buhari).
Suleiman expressed the confidence of members of APC in Kwara in the leadership of Oshiomhole who he said is the right man to lead the party now.
“I genuinely believe that Oshiomhole is the best chairman our party needs at this time. This is an election period and we need a firm, strong and detrmined cairman to make the party work.
“Oshiomhole is coming from the labour background and militant in nature and therefore may not be totally acceptable to those of us who are coming from democratic backgrounds
“What Oshiomhole is trying to do is to enforce party supremacy over individual or any other interests that is not compatible with the principle of party supremacy.
“He is fighting a war against imposition by political office holders who will want to impose their and usurp the supremacy of the party”.
