BYSHA approves Governor Diri Request To Appoint More Special Advisers

Bayelsa State House of Assembly has approved Governor Douye Diri to appoint an additional 12 Special Advisers to serve in the government.
The state Assembly, after resumption from the recess on Wednesday, received three communications from the government, including approving the appointment of 12 Special Advisers, approval of the Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper, as well and screening and confirmation of two commissioners’ nominee for the State Independent Electoral Commission (BYSIEC).
The pro-tem leader of the house, Hon. Wisdom Fafi, moved the motion for approval for Governor Diri to appoint more special advisers and was seconded by Barr Tare Pori.
The house, however, deferred the screening and confirmation of BYSIEC nominees and consideration of the Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper to the next legislative day.
The speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Rt Hon. Abraham Ingobere, presided during the sitting.
