…….Enugu Chamber of Commerce lauds Dangote Group on African industrialization
Dangote Group’s giant strides in establishing cement plants across Africa has attracted commendation of Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Power (ECCIMA) which described the conglomerate as an emerging global player from Africa.
President of ECCIMA, Ugochukwu Chime speaking at the weekend during Dangote Group’s special day at the 27th Enugu International Trade Fair also lauded the group for operating in almost every sector of the economy while adding a lot of value to the growth of the Nigerian economy.
He said more of Dangote is all Nigeria needs to be an industrial giant in the committee of the nation adding that the present challenges facing the country presents opportunity to investors to do business in Nigeria especially Nigerians
According to him, “Dangote Group has gone beyond being a Nigerian conglomerate to an African conglomerate operating in many countries across the continent. It has demystified the production process, perfected backward integration and in years to come will become a global player, deepening the creation of wealth and employment generation.”
Chime added, “Dangote business and entrepreneurship indulgence has spread to many parts of African continent, employing thousands of people across the world of which not less than 85 percent are Nigerians.”
Regional Sales Director, South East, Dangote Cement, Tunde Mabogunje who led the Dangote Group team said that the Group has grown from a trading company to an integrated manufacturing conglomerate and has succeeded in making Nigerian self-sufficient in goods that were been imported in the past. He said that the Group pays attention to quality thereby ensuring that all products from its stable are of high quality.
A high point of the special day was the raffle draw by NASCON. Amaka Ude won the first prize of a microwave oven, Lovina Chukwu won a gas cooker. Other prizes won include blenders and non-stick cooking pots.
All participants at the special day received free gift packs containing all ranges of products from the Group’s stable as well as free plates of delicacies prepared with danq seasong cubes.
Some of the products displayed at the fair include Dangote sugar, Dangote Flour, spaghetti, noodles and macaroni Dangote salt, Danq (seasoning), various ranges of fruit juice products and bottled water from Dansa Foods.
Dangote Sugar offered customers who bought granulated sugar packs at the fair instant lucky dip prizes ranging from plastic buckets to umbrellas and exercise books. All products at the Dangote Pavilion were sold at discounted prices.
Dangote Group is of the view that the trade fair came at an appropriate time, within the Easter period, where schools are on break. This afforded traders and dealers the opportunity to buy and stock their shops while parents will buy the items their kids need for school reopening.
It would be recalled that Dangote Group is making huge investments in oil and gas, in which the Company is building a Refinery capable of refining 650, 000 barrels, a petrochemical and fertiliser plants, while also expanding his Cement business both at home and abroad with construction of more plants.
