Three persons have died while seven seriously injured in a head on collision between a truck belonging to Dangote Group of Companies and a 60-seater Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) bus at Majidun along Ikorodu road in Lagos.The incident occurred on Tuesday around 11 am.
Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASEMA) said the evacuation process has begun.
Two employees of Primero Transport Services died in the incident including a female passenger.
The cement-laden truck lost its brake and ran into the BRT lane crushing the oncoming bus.
“Unfortunately, we lost two of our staff and one passenger in the accident. We are working with the authorities to apprehend the truck driver,” Primero boss, Fola Tinubu, said
“Right now our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of the deceased and we are praying for full recovery for the injured.
“All our vehicles are fully insured and our passengers are also insured but that will not bring back the dead. I pray for God to grant the deceased souls eternal rest and we’ll continue to investigate the accident.”
General Manager of the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA), Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, however, said that only a female passenger died in the auto crash.
Many onlooker and sympathizers accused the Dangote drivers of reckless driven.
