In a swift reaction to the statement credited to one Taofiki Gani who claimed to be PDP publicity Secretary Lagos state Chapter,where he disparaged certain APC chieftain.The Lagos state Peoples’ Democract Party (PDP) Chairman Otunba Segun Adewale has disassociated his party, PDP from the statement credited to Taofiki Gani in a press release signed by Otunba Segun Adewale.
Its read thus;
My attention has been drawn to a statement credited to one Taofik Gani parading himself as the Publicity Secretary of the Lagos State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) where he purportedly praised the Akinwunmi Ambode-led APC government.
This fellow has always been known to be disloyal and mischievous hence these his views do not represent those of our party and our teeming members across the state. I therefore appeal to Lagosians and the public at large not to identify with or take him serious as it will be at the peril of whoever does so.
The publicity organ of the party has not been mandated to make such statement. This unit remains under the able leadership of Dr Adetokunbo Pearse and he is the only one saddled with the responsibility of speaking on behalf of our great party.
The PDP is aware of Taofik Gani’s unholy alliance with the opposition and we have it on good authority that he collected huge sums of money running into millions of naira plus several other gifts from the APC-led government of Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode during the last Sallah celebrations which has now led to his unguarded and inexplainable praises of his government. Gani’s anti-party activities have remained questionable before, during and after the last general elections and investigations are in top gear to unmask his plans to discredit the party. Our disciplinary committee has been monitoring his anti-party activities and will soon recommend appropriate actions to be taken against him. Disloyalty to the PDP in any form and under any guise will no longer be tolerated.
