Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan, Vice-Chancellor, Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo has been commended for his judicious use of TETFUND resources given to the university.
The commendation, according to a release made available to our correspondent by the University’s Media and Public Relations Officer, ‘Wale Adeoye, came from Hon. Sunday Adepoju, BOT Member (South-West), who was on an familiarization visit to the Erelu Campus of the institution. Speaking, the Eruwa-born politician lauded the performance of the Vice-Chancellor whom he described as a blessing to the university. According to former parliamentarian, “I am here with my team to see things for myself as the Southwest Representative on the TETFUND BOT. I am happy to note Emmanuel Alayande is my home as the Vice-Chancellor is my brother from Eruwa. Therefore, his success is my success and I am sure I will do all within my reach to support him. I want to commend the Federal Government’s continued commitment to strengthening tertiary education through TETFund’s various intervention programmes. Permit me to state that several positive initiatives are currently being implemented across institutions in the South-West zone and let me also note that several tertiary institutions in the zone have tremendousely benefited from TETFUND. I commend my brother for making judicious use of TETFUND resources in the university’s disposal and for being accountable. I want to round off by calling on all staff to fully support the Vice-Chancellor and his team as they work to position the institution in the commity of ivory towers”.
Earlier in his welcome address, the University helmsman expressed his delight in receiving the TETFUND BOT Member, Hon. Sunday Adepoju and his team. “I welcome you and your team into our university Sir. I am delighted to state that our university commenced operations in over two years now and we have committed ourselves to building an institution that we can be proud of in line with the vision of our proprietor, the Oyo State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE. I want to thank the Board of TETFUND and the Management for the support our university has been receiving since our College days. Indeed, TETFUND is great and we are very grateful for all you are doing for us. I assure you on behalf of the Pro-Chancellor & Chairman Council, Emeritus Professor Ayoade Ogunkunle, Council, Management, Senate, Staff and Students that we shall continue to make judicial use of all you provide for us. Once, again, I am most grateful, Sir.”
The Vice-Chancellor used the occasion to reel out some of the projects of TETFUND in the university while the team was later conducted round the on-going projects of the Agency.
In her closing remarks, Registrar, Mrs. Olubunmi Siju Asunmo appreciated the TETFund team for their visit and prayed for safe trips back to their destinations.
