A chairmanship aspirant in the forthcoming Nigeria Union of Journalists election in Kwara State, Fadeyi Babajide Adeolu has said he will run a peaceful and united NUJ if elected as the next chairman of the union in the State.

Fadeyi made this known during his visit to the Kwara State  National Orientation Agency (NOA).

The contestant, who was warmly received by the agency’s Director, Mr. Olusegun Adeyemi, said he was determined to unite the union so that ‘groups’ and ‘caucuses’ would become things of the past in its affairs in the State.

“No matter your affiliation or religion, you will be recognized for being a member, not for being a Christian nor a Muslim, not for being a non Kwara indegene but for being a member of the union. May God help me”. He said.

Fadeyi reiterated that his ambition to be the next Kwara NUJ Chairman is not out of desperation, noting that whether members vote him or not, he shall give his 101% support to whoever emerges.

“It is not about a particular person, it is about Kwara NUJ”, he said.

He also pledged a morally balanced administration where elders would be respected, even while ensuring that peace and unity remain his watchwords.

In his reaction, the Director, National Orientation Agency, Mr. Olusegun Adeyemi expressed his pleasure over the peace priority of the aspirant’s agenda, saying it is what the union needs at the moment.

Olusegun enjoined all members of the NOA Chapel to ensure they vote wisely come 10th July, 2021.

In her vote of thanks, the Head of *#FadeyiforChairman* campaign team, Hajia Balikis Oladimeji appreciated all members of the Chapel for the warm reception and show of love towards them, assuring them of competent, peaceful and united administration that would promote the interest of all at all times.
