Immigration elevates spokesperson, 4,851 other
The Comptroller General of Immigration Caroline Wura-Ola Adepoju, has officially announced the promotion of the Service Public Relations Officer, Adedotun Aridegbe, to the rank of Comptroller of Immigration, and 4,851 other Personnel of the Service who participated in the 2023 Promotion exercise.
The promotion details were conveyed through a letter from the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board, vide CDCFIB/S.33/VOLIV/75 and dated 4th August, 2023.
The Comptroller General made the announcement on Tuesday, December 12, at the Service Headquarters while decorating the newly promoted Assistant Comptrollers General and Comptrollers of Immigration.
A peep into the breakdown of the promotion showed that a total of 18 Comptrollers of Immigration got promoted to the rank of Assistant Comptrollers General of Immigration;
51 Deputy Comptrollers were promoted to the rank of Comptrollers of Immigration; 43 Assistant Comptrollers of Immigration were also promoted to the rank of Deputy Comptrollers of Immigration; 520 Chief Superintendents of Immigration were promoted to the rank of Assistant Comptroller of Immigration; 634 Superintendents of Immigration were moved to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Immigration; while 426 Deputy Superintendents of Immigration got promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Immigration.
Aanother 1,366 Assistant Superintendents of Immigration (I) are now Deputy Superintendents; 804 Assistant Superintendents of Immigration (II) got promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Immigration (I) while; 990 Inspectors of Immigration were promoted to Assistant Superintendents of Immigration (II).
During the decoration ceremony, the Comptroller General expressed gratitude to Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Board, for his unwavering commitment to staff motivation. She charged the newly promoted officers to validate their advancements through heightened dedication and unwavering loyalty to authorities.
Furthermore, she assured the government that the Immigration Service, under her leadership, would continue to contribute significantly to the peace and progress of the country.
Among the officers decorated with new ranks are Sunday James, the former Service Public Relations Officer, and George Didel, a former Provost Marshal of the NIS, who were both elevated to the esteemed position of Assistant Comptrollers General of Immigration.ź
