Equity investors on Wednesday invested N1.7 billion in equities as NSE All- Shares Index and Market Capitalisation depreciated by 0.77percent each.
The All-Share Index went down by 197.93 bases points or 0.77 percent to close at 25,620.94 points from 25,818.87 it closed previously while market capitalization slipped by N68.4 billion to close at N8.865 trillion from N8.933 trillion it closed on Tuesday.
Dangote Cement Company went down by 600 kobo to close at N1159.00 per share, leading top price losers for the day. It was followed by PRESCO which slipped by 170 kobo to close at N45.00 per share, UAC of Nigeria dropped 43 kobo to close at N14.00 per share, Beta Glass Company lost 40 kobo to close at N46.00per share, while Air Service depreciated by 13 kobo to close at N4.17 per share, among others.
On the other hand, Seplat Oil Development Company led gainers’ table when its share price added 500 kobo to close at N410.00 per share, it was seconded by Okomu Palm Oil, which raked additional 104 kobo to close at N48.00 per share, Stanbic Bank recorded 111 kobo to close at N23.42 per share, International Breweries grabbed 34 kobo to close at N17.84 per share, while Oando Oil recorded 33 kobo to close at N5.73per share, among others.
Transnational Incorporated emerged the most traded equity on Wednesday with an exchange of 56.002 million shares worth N48.091 million. It was followed by Oando Oil having accounted for 45.425 million shares valued at N267.279 million, UAC Properties traded 25.498 million shares valued at N47.437 million; Diamond Bank sold 18.173million shares valued at N15.172 million while FBN Holdings exchanged 16.332million shares worth N56.331 million.
A total of 225.726 million shares worth N1.668 billion in 2,845.00 were traded on Wednesday compared with a total of 127.431 million shares worth N909.332 million in 3,176 deals exchanged hands on Tuesday by investors.
