The Global Pandemic, Covid-19 has dealt a devastating blow on humans. The ravaging disease has caused the death of over 467,280 lives and affected almost 9 million people across the globe. In Nigeria, not less than 506 lives have been lost to the disease, with over 20,000 recorded cases.
Aside from the number of lives affected by Corona Virus, findings have also shown an increasing number of gender based violence, rape and murder during this global pandemic
Worried by these unpleasant development, Media Women Forum is organizing a Webinar to assess the psychological damages that the disease has caused Nigerian women with a view to bringing the findings up for public attention.
The Webinar will also examine the rising cases of rape, suicide and domestic violence in Nigeria as part of measures targeted at finding lasting solutions to the social vices.
The Webinar will hold on Saturday, June 27th at 6.p.m
The theme of the webinar is “Scars Within: An Awareness to Promote Mental Wellbeing’’, while the Speakers are: Dr. Maymunah Kadiri,Consultant Neuro-Psychiatrist and Psychotherapist, Toyin Lawal Mental Health Nurse and Counsellor and Enitan Jejeola Awojobi, Clinical Psychologist.
The Webinar will be hosted by Moji Makanjuola, ace broadcaster and Executive Director, International Society for Media in Public Health, ISMPH.
