Ministerial Aides Launch New Platform, Hold Inaugural Meeting in Abuja

The Special Advisers and Special Assistants to Ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria have officially inaugurated the Ministerial Aides Network (MANET), a platform designed to foster collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and inter-ministerial cooperation.

The inaugural meeting of MANET, themed “Meet & Greet,” was held on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the Barcelona Hotel, Blantyre Crescent, Wuse 2, Abuja, with 36 members in attendance. The session commenced at 7:00 p.m. with the rendition of the National Anthem and self-introductions by members across various ministries.

Moderated by Mr. Tunde Moshood (Aviation), Dr. Ololade Kehinde (Health & Social Welfare), and Mr. Niyi Fatogun (Aviation), the meeting set the tone for what promises to be a strategic network for advancing good governance.

In his address, Mr. Niyi Fatogun, Special Adviser on Strategy to the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, underscored the importance of formalizing the forum. He drew parallels with established bodies such as the Governors’ Forum and ALGON, noting how they evolved into formidable platforms. He urged members to give collective support to MANET, describing it as a channel for knowledge exchange and cooperation that would ultimately add value to President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. His remarks were uproariously applauded with resounding support from members present.

The highlight of deliberations was the proposed agenda item, “MANET on The Go!”, which introduced discussions on the nomination and election of interim leadership for the association. However, after robust dialogue, members unanimously agreed to postpone the election until the next meeting to ensure broader inclusivity and give absentees the opportunity to participate in the leadership process.

The meeting was adjourned to Wednesday, October 1st, 2025 at the same venue. The formation of MANET marks a significant milestone in strengthening administrative synergy among ministerial aides, with the shared vision of enhancing policy delivery and promoting inter-ministerial cohesion for the greater good of the nation.
