New Era Girls Secondary School old students association elects new executive
The old students association of New Era Girls Secondary School, Surulere, Lagos has elected new officers to run its affairs for next two years, an election which produced Mrs Omobola Sadiq as the National President and Mrs Rianat Ajibike Onigbanjo as National VIce President.
The election, which was conducted at the Lady Koforola Ademola Hall located in the premises of the school at Surulere, Lagos was supervised by electoral committee.
The new president, Mrs Omobola Sadiq in her acceptance speech commended the outgoing executive, as well as the electoral committee for providing level playing ground and conducive atmosphere
The President pledged that her team would further the legacy of the outgoing executive towards the success of the association, assuring that she would work effectively with other executive in ensuring that next two years of their tenure will be more productive.
She also reiterates that her tenure would further deepen their dedication on looking at the moral of girl-child in the society towards grooming them to be influential person in life, just as she said that the school had already concluded arrangement with the Lagos State Government to relocate the senior secondary arms of the school to a more conducive and spacious place soon.
‘Let me use this opportunity to commend the outgoing executive, as well as the electoral committee for providing level playing ground and conducive atmosphere while I do pledge that I and my team would further the legacy of the outgoing executive towards the success of the association and am also assuring that I will will work effectively with other executive in ensuring that next two years of our tenure will be productive. I can also assure that my tenure would further dedicate looking at the moral of girl-child in the society towards grooming them to be influential person in life”, she added.
Also corroborating, the newly sworn-in vice president of the association, Mrs Rianat Ajibike Onigbanjo, expressed appreciation to the past executive as well as the electoral committee for a job well done.
She also attested to the fact that the past executive did tremendously well, just as she emphasized that the new administration will continue the legacy left by the past executive, just she added that the present administration would add more to the programme of girl-child education, especially the reading culture. .
“We all know that since the era of social media, the reading culture of our children had totally gone down, hence our resolve as mothers have taken it upon ourselves to further deepen into complete overhauling of the education of our children, especially, girl-child, because we realized that when you educate a girl, you empower a nation”, Onigbanjo said.
Also, the outgoing president of the Club, Mrs Adenike Bankoke, expressed appreciation to all members of the association for their cooperation, support and love, just as she enjoined them to redouble the cooperation to the new executive to further take the school to more enviable standard.
