Property owners and residents of Iba new town domiciled in Iba LCDA of Ojo local government area of Lagos State have rejected the plan to include them under preview of the LASU land territory.The residents who operate under the Iba New Town Stakeholders Association in a press briefing hold at De Vince hotel, Lagos, to make their stance known to the government vehemently rejected the plan of making them LASU tenants in its totality.According to the chairman of the association, Chief Eleodi Okwu Emma stated that they passionately plead with the Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode for the total Excision of Iba New Town from government acquisition.” After considering unfortunate economic situation coupled with the vast numbers of houses involved. “We plead and beg that a special rate of direct charge is evolved to enable us obtain our tittle documents from the government. Presently, Iba New Town comprises of about five thousand who are presently prepared to pay up this special charge to the state government at a go.”Speaking further, he used the medium to commend the effort of the honourable speaker of Lagos state house of Assembly Rt.Hon. Mudashiru Obasa who sent in our amiable honourable house of assembly representative, Hon. Victor Akande to participate at the LASU/Stakeholders meeting.And also to the special adviser on education, Mr Fela Bank-Olemoh for his soul inspiring speech delivered at the meeting.Meanwhile the chairman said that, this press conference is vital to us and it all seconded on being appreciative with what our amiable Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode led administration of Lagos state did to our town. “Our Governor in his magnanimity proven to us in this town he is truly a governor of the people, he has acted so kindly and benevolently to the entire people of Iba new town,said he.
