Renowned gospel singer Bunmi Akinnaanu, popularly known as ‘Omije Ojumi’ after her much-loved song, has passed away.
The news of her death was confirmed on Tuesday via an Instagram statement released by fellow gospel artist Ayo Melody on behalf of the family. The post, accompanied by a photograph and a brief video clip of the singer, revealed that she died in a Lagos hospital on January 12, 2026.
The statement read in part:
“With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Evangelist Olubunmi Akinnaanu Adeoye, fondly known as Omije Ojumi. She passed on at a Lagos hospital on January 12, 2026. May God grant her eternal rest.
