…….Organizes One-Day Symposium for Stakeholders in HEI

As one of the leading knowledge development hubs in the continent, Redeemer’s University is bringing together some of Africa’s  brightest minds to identify pathways for refocusing higher education institutions for accelerated impact in African society towards sustainable development through a one-day virtual symposium which is slated for Thursday 22nd October 2020.

According to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Anthony Akinlo, ‘it is time for homegrown customized solutions to be provided by African higher education institutions towards sustainable development’. He stated that now is the time for higher education institutions to find relevance among their peers globally by finding lasting solutions to the myriads of  problems confronting the continent.He explained that the event was planned to equip leaders and emerging managers with knowledge on university governance, knowledge generation, web metric ranking, curriculum development and strategic marketing of their institutions in this turbulence and crisis period in global history.

He mentioned that the speakers were carefully selected based on their wealth of experience, expertise, academic credentials and their strategic roles in managing some of the continent higher education institutions and consulting firms.

Some of the speakers that will be making presentations are: Professor Olufemi Bamiro, former Vice-Chancellor, University of Ibadan and who has also served and still serving on the  Governing Councils of several Nigerian universities, Professor Friday Okonofua, former Vice-Chancellor, University of Medical Sciences, Ondo and who is the Director, World Bank-University of Benin African Centre of Excellence for Reproductive Health and Innovation.

Others are Professor Etienne Ehile, Secretary-General, Association of African Universities, Ghana, Dr Willey Sanchez, Regional Director, Times Higher Education, Professor Vincent Anigbogu, Director-General, Institute of National Transformation, who is a globally acclaimed authority in leadership and Mr Lolu Akinwunmi, Chairman, Prima-Garnet Africa, and former President, Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria, who is one of the renowned experts in the field of Advertising in the continent.
