Two teachers of two private schools in Ondo in Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State have been arrested by men of the state Police Command for allegedly using pupils in their custody for ritual purposes.
The teachers, whose names were given as Blessing Omowera and Sola Kalejaiye, were arrested after extracting blood from two pupils of a private nursery and primary school in the community.
While Omowera was teaching in God Heritage Nursery and Primary School, Kalajaye taught at Saint Monica Girls Grammar School also in the town.
This incident, which has stunned the residents, prompted parents to withdraw their wards from the school and some other private schools in the town.
The duo were arrested for allegedly cutting the finger nails of the students and extracting blood from them for ritual purposes.
A source close to the police at the Ondo Area Command where the incident was reported said that Omowera, a holder of National Certificate in Education (NCE) had on the fateful day allegedly cut the finger nails and extracted blood of two pupils of God’s Heritage Nursery and Primary School Ondo and keep it inside her bag.
