…Call on Nigeria Leaders To Emulate Prophet Ibrahim In Their Dealings
An Ibadan based socio political group known as The Democrats has felicitated with the Muslim faithfuls all over the world, most especially the Muslim Community in Oyo State as they celebrate this year Eid- El-Kabir.
The group made this known in a press statement signed and made available by the groups Public Relations Officer, Comrade Kehinde Ojoawo on Thursday in Ibadan.
The group felicitates with Muslims in the state and also called on Nigerians leaders to let the teachings of the Sallah reflects in their various ways of leadership.
Comrade Ojoawo said, “As Nigeria joins the rest of the world to celebrates the Eid-El- Kabir, which is the annual marking celebration of the Prophet Ibrahim who observed the unbeatable faith and obedience to the commandment of Almighty Allah by trying to fulfill his promises to his creator, by trying to offered sacrifice of his only son to Allah, with this act, the Prophet Ibrahim has show uncommon faith couple with selflessness and his deeds is indeed worthy of emulating.
“The Democratic congratulates Muslim faithfuls on the occasion and also calls on Nigerians, most especially the leaders to embrace love, sacrifice, faith and selfless service to their subjects, they should embrace to live together in peace regardless of their ethnicity, religious and political affiliations.
The Democratic also uses the occasion of Eil-El- Kabir to call for peaceful, free and fair election in the forthcoming Edo Gubernatorial election that is coming up in September, we call on the candidates in the election to embrace issue based campaign as opposed to violent electioneering campaign.
“We are alarmed by the increase debt profile of Oyo State and we are warning the State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde against his recent proposed loan of N100B, we call on him to embrace management strategiithat will not put much debt burden on the State, we want him to be prudent in management of the state funds.
