Leader of pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti has broken his silence over the 2023 presidential ambition of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, saying, the former governor meant well.
Although Tinubu had recently denied having any ambition to run for the presidency but, the speculation has refused to go away.
Fasoranti in his interview granted Vanguard said he had interacted with the APC leader and discovered that the political leader meant well.
The Afenifere leader said the body might try him in the 2023 election .
When asked whether he believed in the candidature of Tinubu if the presidency is zoned to the South or not, Fasoranti said “I am not a member of his party but I have interacted with him. He means well, we may try him.”
On his view on the zoning of presidency, he lamented that power is concentrated in the North, saying, if the country is restructured, Nigerians will manage their affairs locally.
He said “rotational is better because if you want to follow one pattern, rigging will take place and the powers-that-be will continue to rule.
“ As we have seen now, power will remain in the North unless something is done. They will rig. They will use money to influence voters. It is either we have an agreement to rotate or something happens.”
