Tinubu will strengthen Nigeria Economically, Democratically – Stephen Adeday
Apart from improving Nigeria’s economy, the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will also work towards the full entrenchment of democracy in Nigeria.
A former personal photographer of the president between 1999 to 2007, Mr. Stephen Adedayo made this known on Friday, adding that the country is lucky to have a President who is interested in renewing the hope of Nigerians both economically and democratically.
He noted that Tinubu is a true Democrat who has a lot to offer Nigerians as far as democratic governance is concerned.
The Ado-Ekiti-born senior photographer, while making an unveiled allusion to a statement by the President, where he (Tinubu) reiterated support for the idea of the founding of an Institute of Progressive Studies, said “Nigerians will soon have causes to thank God for giving them a leader like Asiwaju at a time like this”
The president, while addressing members of the national working committee (NWC) of his All Progressives Congress, in Lagos on Thursday 28th December 2023, said: “Democracy has faced challenges in the past, but I believe in a promising future for our country. We will deliver it. I am committed to supporting a strong and ideologically determined democracy that is progressive, inclusive, and focused on eliminating poverty while providing quality education for our children,”
Noting that there can not be economic stability without political stability, Adedayo said the Institute, with the president’s support, when founded, will work to contribute to strengthening democracy in the country.
Adedayo, who was also the senior photographer to the late Kudirat Abiola, ‘wife of the late acclaimed winner of the June 12, 1993, presidential elections, M.K.O. Abiola therefore, vouch, once again on the capabilities of President Tinubu, adding that he has always known him “as a man of immense gifts for turning unfavourable situations around for good”
He said: “Just like the Lagos State governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-olu said recently, that, Tinubu, it was, who laid the foundation and started the building of the mega city that Lagos has now become, all we need is patience, he can pull us out of this economic tunnel. Let us be patient”, Adedayo said
He nonetheless expressed wishes that former Osun State governor, Engr. Rauf Aregbesola was saddled with responsibilities in the present federal government, adding that the combination of the former Minister of Interior, as Commissioner under Tinubu as Lagos State Governor between 1999 and 2007 was fruitful, both for the party and the state as a whole.
