TWB TRANS 200 YOUTH ON FINANCIAL LITERACY SKILLS IN YENAGOA

Teachers Without Borders {TWB} Bayelsa State,  a USA based unique developmental organization, recently trained over 200 youth on financial literacy skills. which took place in Yenagoa, the event with the theme: the necessity of financial literacy for qualitative living, It was primarily organized for selected youths in Bayelsa State.

The participants were exposed to the modus operandis of financial literacy skills, while helping to extend the benefits to wider network of informal workers, stressing that it was a sure way to qualitative living.

 

It was revealed that to prevent poverty, the pursuit of financial freedom has become and increasing popular goal for many people, especially the youth. The resource person Dr Fred Johnson, a development scientist, equally noted that the desire to escape poverty and acquire comfortable life style is perfectly understandable, but unfortunately it has also made many people vulnerable to financial fraud and scams.

 

Other speakers at the event includes : Dr Richard Ovie, mr James chuks among others. Participants shared their experiences insights and advice on how to emerge and involve into industry leaders, emphasizing the importance of self worth, self awareness and self development, especially in financial literacy.

 

The Bayelsa State Executive Director Teachers Without Borders , Hon Amb Philip Jeremiah Eke, thanked the resource persons, participants in making it successful event, also, nothing that participants should inculcate good financial literacy  in their daily lifestyle.

 

Mr. Greenfield Ovie, Special Adviser to the educational global Non Governmental Organization on Research and Development on behalf of the organization thanked all participants and resource person in making the occasion a great success, also, appreciates the Bayelsa State Director Teachers Wihout Borders Hon Philip Eke for his great initiatives in making lives meaningful for Bayelsans, especially the youth.
