The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Dr. Lateef Olatunji has pledged again that he would ensure a conducive environment towards providing sound and quality education that will give students a chance in life and be useful to self and society.
Dr. Olatunji disclosed this yesterday during the commissioning of a relaxation center for the students to read their books while on campus.
The rector urged the students to make use of the opportunity to improve on their academic performance.
According to him, “they must avoid all forms of social vices such as the school authority has zero tolerance for uncultured behaviours”
He added that they should take advantage of some facilities of the school like ICT which will aid then their learning.
Dr. Olatunji advised the students was to ensure eradication of crime from the society and prepare youth for future challenge, through proper education, cultivating reading culture from the crux of discussion by eminent personalities to read.
Also speaking, the Managing Director of Neebeet Technical Limited, Mr Tunji Isarinade, said that the capacity of the relaxation centre commission by the rector could contain about 500 seats for students to read their books during and after the exams.
I was impressed with the president of the Students Union Government (SUG) of the Federal Polytechnic, Offa for having innovation to construct this developmental projects for the students”, he said.
In his closing remarks, the president of the SUG, Muritala Sheedor popularly known as Aluta expressed appreciation to the rector of the institution for his good leadership role, which he said created an avenue to make his dream a reality.
He explained that the project brings to the three the number of such projects in the institution.
