The former Senior Special Assistant, SSA to Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola on Christian matters and the National President of All Christian Leaders and Ministers’ Forum, ACLMF, Rev. Dr. Sam Ogedengbe, has come out boldly to let the whole world know why he would not deny the Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress in the forth coming 2022 general election, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Ogedengbe, who also double as the General Overseer of Overcomers Pentecostal Prayer Ministry, made the declaration at the end of the monthly prayer session organised to pray for the nation at the headquarters of the Church in Abule -Egba, Lagos on Tuesday.
“I have been his Pastor with late Archbishop Lanre Obembe since 1999. Asiwaju Tinubu during the dedication of the state house chapel in Marina, I wàs one of the officiating ministers, with Baba Adeboye, Baba Prelate Makinde, Late Archbishop Amu, Baba Ademowo and others”, Ogedengbe said.
He affirmed that Tinubu was the first sitting governor in Nigeria to come out and gavé his stewardship to the Christian community (under the All Christian Leaders and Ministers Forum) with late Archbishop Oyeniran and other prominent Christian leaders in 2003
Ogedengbe also said that while leaving office, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu instructed Governor Fashola to call him and assist in handling Christian Directorate in the campaign, adding that he also mobilised him to
handle Christian Directorate in Ondo state for Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s campaign.
“He also mobilised me to handle the very delicate Christian Directorate for Aregbesola during his second term electioneering campaign in Osun State, including that of Gov. Oyetola during his campaign too with Hon Tayo Ayinde now Chief of Staff to Lagos State Governor, COS”
Continuing, “not only that, Governor Oyetola even appointed my Secretary in Osun as a member of Osun State Christians Pilgrim Board”, Ogedengbe said.
He also added that for the past fifteen years, he has never failed in extending Christmas gifts to me and other Christian leaders in Lagos State and other states in the country.
“Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu is another wonderful sister and supporter of our ministry. Ogedengbe asserted.
Not that alone, he agreed to our call for Christian Governor( with Baba Ademowo, Baba Abiara, Baba Makinde and Late Baba Fakeye), he called Ambode and asked him to meet with me, and I did the Christian sensitisation with him”, he said.
He also said Tinubu and Baba Abiara were the two leaders that did the dedication of his Church at Abule Egba, Lagos in 2012. During his tenure as the Governor of Lagos state, he started the yearly Christian thanksgiving in the state.
Ogedengbe concluded that no matter the situation, he can never deny Tinubu and confirmed that he will vote for him
