Yuletide: Yoruba Tennis Club presents Cheques to orphanages in Lagos
…As Chairman of the Club urges Nigerians to exercise patience for the new administration
The First Indigenous Club of Lagos, Yoruba Tennis Club has presented Cheques to orphanages and motherless homes in the state. The Chairman of the Club, Bro Olakunle Agbebi SAN, said the cheques presented were part of the funds often generated and donated by members of the Yoruba Tennis Club, just as he added that the donation has become a yearly routine for the Club. According to him, ” The donations of cheques to homes is beyond corporate social responsibility, but it’s a matter of caring, taken care of those that can not take care of themselves, especially this festive period. I can tell you that it is a matter tell you that it’s a a matter of caring and taken care of those that cannot taken care of themselves. And I can tell you that this is not the first time of doing this, but it has become a yearly routine for our members”, Agbebi said. “Some of these homes were Motherless Babies Home, Lekki Phase 1 and Wesley School for the hearing impaired and Paccelli School for the visually challenged, Surulere, Lagos. He explained that the club had previously visited the many vulnerable homes in Lagos as well as the orphanage homes to present cheques to them. He said the club has annual projects it carries out every year in order to assist the vulnerable and the needy and had itemised more than 24 different homes and orphanages for the presentation. He urged the people and residents of the country to please exercise patience witt the Federal Government, because according to him, “6 months is too small to judge the performance of the present administration. Earlier, Mrs Elizabeth, Principal, Wesley School for the hearing impaired, School 1, Surulere, thanked the club and expressed satisfaction for the cheque presentation, she also urged other society to emulate Yoruba Tennis Club who have taken it upon themselves to be showing gifts on their schools and others on a yearly basis
