A 42 year old woman identified as Oludayo Fagbemi has been killed in Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo state in the early hours of Wednesday.

The woman according to residents of the area was killed by some persons suspected to be ritualists around 5.40am .

While confirming the killing, the state police command said efforts were been intensified to apprehend those behind the killings in area

The Police Public Relations Officer ( PPRO) , Olugbega Fadeyi , a Superintendent of Police in a statement on Wednesday said ” At about 0540 hrs of today 24//06/2020, one Olusayo Fagbemi ‘f’ aged 42 yrs was attacked right at the frontage of her house  when washing plates and she sustained injury on her head.

 ” At her shout, the husband rushed out and met her in the pool of her blood while the assailant(s) ran away. She was rushed to an hospital where she was confirmed dead. Efforts intensified while the Police is on the trail of the assailants.”

It was  gathered that the Wednesday incident is coming after the killing of three women in the same local government area.

Another 5-year old boy identified as Mujeeb was killed in the same local government area on Monday.

The Wednesday incident according to sources occurred opposite the popular Ajibade house Sasa/Ojoo in Akinyele local government.

One of the residents in the area who prefered anonymity while speaking to Integrity Reporters posited that the community suspected ritualists to be behind the incessant killings in the local government area.

She called on the security agencies and the state government to halt the incessant killings in the local government area.

 “Another person just killed in Ajibade area of Sasa community this morning, adding that, “”this is serious and that If we don’t see any serious action from those who are concerned, we will be forced to embark on a serious mass protest. Enough is enough”.

Another resident who identified himself as Alubarika said that the state government ought to have addressed the security challenges in the local government area to save lives and property.
