The Governor gave the commendation at the commissioning of the Serenity Park and Gardens – a corporate social responsibility project undertaken by Zenith Bank Plc in collaboration with IRU-Victoria Island Local Council Development Area (LCDA) – situated at the Eko Hotel Roundabout, Victoria Island, Lagos on Friday, July 7.
Ambode, who was represented at the commissioning by the State Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Babatunde Adejare, commended the Management of Zenith Bank for reconstructing the laybys and improving the aesthetics of the Ajose Adeogun/Eko Hotel environs.
It will be recalled that the bank had several years ago single-handedly undertaken the reconstruction of the Ajose Adeogun Street, which today remains a role model for good corporate citizenship in the country. This is in addition to the annual decoration and light-up of the street, which has made it an iconic place during the Christmas season.
In his remarks, the Group Managing Director/CEO of Zenith Bank Plc, Mr. Peter Amangbo, said that the bank is committed to supporting and partnering the government’s vision and efforts to make the State a mega city in furtherance of its disposition to support a State that has been so conducive for the pursuit of enterprise.
Also speaking at the commissioning, the Sole Administrator of IRU-Victoria Island LCDA, Princess Aderemi Adebowale, expressed delight that the project, which will serve as a relaxation and fun spot, was undertaken during her tenure. She commended Zenith Bank for collaborating with her administration and urged the incoming administration to give priority to the maintenance of the facility.
