THE United Peoples Party governorship candidate in Anambra State, Chief Osita Chidoka, has assured the aged that his government will make provision for support packages to make life meaningful and easy for them. He gave this assurance when a group of septuagenarian and octogenarian paid him a courtesy visit on Friday at his Obosi home town in Idemili North LGAs to show solidarity ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial election slated for Nov. 18.

There is a popular adage that if you want to age gracefully, you must hold people of your age bracket in high esteem because I look forward to aging gracefully like you.

Upon my getting to office, my government will make provisions for centres where the aged can engage in light exercises to keep fit, relax and interact with one another. Medical services would also be made available at the centres where basic medical examinations can be carried out,” Chidoka promised.

While commending him for the peaceful campaign of his party in the state, some members of the group pleaded with Chidoka to hasten to do something good about pensions and gratuity when he gets to office as Governor of the State.

They lamented that the present administration in the state under Governor Willie Obiano, APGA led- Administration had not made good its promise of providing accessible roads to 179 communities that make up the State and poor payment of retirees their entitlements and this has made life terrible and painful.

The former Aviation Minister, expressed dissatisfaction over this,describing it as ungodly and a bad way of paying back evil for good.
