Eweka commissions CSR Initiative established, to service security guards and youths, in the security industry around Ikorodu community, with the aim to prevent the incessant occurrences of crimes in the environment.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), amidst its many mandates and functions, is also saddled, with the sole responsibility, to licence, train and regulate Private Guard Companies ( PGCs ), amidst others in the nation. This special but worth having mandate of the Corps was conceived, by the Federal Government of Nigeria, in a bid to regulate the private security industry and preserve it against ugly, incidences and consequences of quackery, which may also have dilapidating effects on our collective national security.
In the light of the above, Safety Signatures, one of the vibrant and proactive PGCs in the nation, gifts NSCDC, Lagos State Command, Ikorodu community brand new training offices, located, at the Federal low cost housing estate, Sabo, Ikorodu, Lagos.

S Director ( MD ), of Safety Signatures, Dr Cynthia Gregg, who said, “the gesture was made after the company reviewed its Corporate Social Responsibility ( CSR ) initiative, for the year 2022 and targeted crime prevention and control, in a bid to support the NSCDC in the area of training, pursue youth inclusion in matters of security, prevent and curb high rate of criminal activities amongst youths, educate private guards in the industry, give back to the community and contribute to the fight against insecurity in the nation at large.
The NSCDC , Lagos State Commandant, Commandant of Corps ( CC ) Edenabu Eweka Okoro, was also represented at the event, by the Area E, Area Commander, Assistant Commandant of Corps ( ACC ) Mutiu Ologunibi along side with the Divisional Officer, Ikorodu Division, Chief Superintendent of Corps ( CSC ) Osisami Olatunji.
The Commandant also addressed newsmen at the event, through the Command’s spokesperson, Deputy Superintendent of Corps ( DSC ) Abolurin Oluwaseun, where he “re – echoed the warnings of the Commandant General ( CG ), NSCDC, CG Ahmed Abubakar Audi, PhD, mni, OFR, on the need, to totally, stamp out quackery, in the private security industry, in the nation at large.
“In addition, Corporate Social Responsibility ( CSR ), such as a free security training office and others, for the Command and the community, require commendations and appreciations from the Corps and we seize this medium, to call on many more PGCs and well meaning Nigerians, in the state, to imbibe this kind of laudable initiative and come up with organizational policies, designed, towards providing youth inclusion, youth empowerment, crime prevention, peaceful co – existence and general safety and security of the people and their property in the communities,” he said.
In the same vein, Dr Cynthia Gregg, MD Safety Signatures, led, the Area E, Area Commander, ACC Ologunibi Mutiu, who represented, the Lagos State Commandant to commission the training office and was joined, by Assistant Commissioner of Police ( ACP ) Bawa Sayidu, the Area N, Area Commander, who represented, the Commissioner of Police ( CP ), Lagos State Police Command, CP Abiodun Alabi and some other dignitaries, at the event,
The highly commendable event was also witnessed, by MDs of some PGCs, community leaders, youths, residents, staff and guards of Safety Signatures, officers and men of both the Area E Command and the Ikorodu Division of the Command and members of the press amongst others .
