Labour Party, Edo State chapter expresses utter dismay and rude shock over unpaid salaries spanning 17 months and above for Local Government Workers in Edo State.
The party said it is an aberration and gross abuse of the dignity of Edo Local Government Workers more especially when it is happening under the watchful eyes of a supposedly workers friendly governor.
Speaking to journalists in Benin City, the State Publicity Secretary of the Party Hon. S.A. Uroupa said the sanctity of our most cherished background has been desecrated upon by Comr. Adams Oshiomhole APC led administration in the state by denying workers and pensioners their due entitlements.
What justification is there in throwing hundreds of millions of Naira lavishly in election campaign when your government at the grassroots is owing workers’ salaries?
What justification is there in spending billions of taxpayers’ money to forcefully plant your stooges back to power, when workers are dying of hunger?
This government has inflicted more pains on Edo People, the level of deceit in this government is unexplainable. Why pretentiously give a glass of cold water to a man to drink as a show of love, but in turn draining his blood from him? This is exactly how Oshiomhole has treated Edo people.
How can a government instead of creating jobs is putting people out of job with inhuman policies of multiple taxation? Labour Party sympathizes with the family of the deceased who died in the protest of Wednesday 3rd August 2016 for the payment of his salary.
Edo Labour Party salute the gallantry of the Local Government Workers and assuring them that they will be properly catered for when Labour Party finally takes over government and ask them to vote for Labour Party.
