The Chairman Nigerian Association of Hydrogeologist Kwara State Chapter, Engineer Lateef L.Kolawole has called on kwara state government to overhaul and revive Kwara State Rural Water Supply Agencies in the stat. Engineer Kolawole made the call while speaking with newsmen in Ilorin
He also enjoined the state government to review it’s sectorial Water Resources laws to meet the reality of the present water situation.
The chairman of the Hydrologists and Registered Engineers called on other water providers to adopt the concept of Community management of all water schemes in order to ensure their functionality
He called on communities to take up the challenges of protection and maintenance of all provided facilities as specified in Federal government’s policy documents
.Engineer Kolawole then invited all bonafide Hydrogeologist in the state to participate fully in the association’s Chapters’ elections
According to him, though RUWASA is young, its members are with vast experience and are available to provide prompt technical assistance to the general public on water
He thanked members and outgoing executives for their cooperation during his tenure, urging them to sustain such support to his successors
