……PLEDGES TO CORRECT THE MENACE-

The Hunters Group of Nigeria (HGN) Bayelsa state Command, renowned security outfit established in all the thirty-six states in Nigeria and Federal Capital Territory Abuja, and all the Local Government areas in Nigeria in fighting criminality, a bill also in the National Assemble for ratification, as vowed to reduce crime rate to its  lowest level in Bayelsa State.

This assertion was made by the Bayelsa State Commander Hunter Group of Nigeria Hunter Felix George at the state new Command Headquarters Yenagoa, while interacting with news men, reiterated its strong determination in hunting criminals and re-locating them to neighboring states, stressing that criminals will not have no hidden place in Bayelsa state, his officers and men will move around the clock to apprehend and prosecute criminals, equally noting that the Tombia bridge flash point will be a priority, in safeguarding lives and property. While describing the Tombia round about as a den of robbers and criminals which did not portray the state in good light, as visitors to the state are robbed on daily basis, more so, market women, students, especially, girls are victims.

       The Hunters Group Commander noted that the security outfit will dismantle criminals and will pin its flag and office in strategic flash points in fighting criminals to stand still, but needs collaboration with government and the general public.

  For the issue of recruitment of staff into the HGN, the Commander revealed that, staff should be of honest behavior, a good hunter, with great deal of security experience, people who are virtually ready to serve their fatherland whole heartedly, while commending his officers and men of the command

be so professional, respect constituted authorities, “don’t take the law into your hands if you see something, say something”

  He further highlighted that the security outfit has partnered with conventional security outfits, notably, the Nigeria police force, the army among others in fighting crime. While pledging to collaborate with the press in information management and dissemination, stressing that information is power in the fighting of crime.

   Commander George re-emphasized that within ten years ahead the security outfit will be well known and achieved greatly within Nigeria and outside the country as he re-count achievements tremendously in crime fighting, especially arresting criminals and handing over to law enforcement agencies for prosecution.

The Bayelsa commander also noted without mincing words that, the HGN internal security and the maintenance of law and order, stand them out in Bayelsa state. Appeal for kind support from government, corporate organizations and well meaning Nigerians in fighting crimes especially provision of logistics, communication gadgets, touch lights, rain coats, among others.

   Training and re training of staff he noted that the command staff are trained professionally, over one thousand three hundred are trained  by the Nigeria army, the Nigeria police force. While urging government at all levels to support the security agencies in the provision of crime fighting equipments notably, gunboats, patrol vans, guns, among others.

  Finally, thanking the Commandant General of the HGN for his pragmatic effort and the recent commissioning of the Bayelsa state command headquarters, while appealing to the general public, especially, youths in Bayelsa state to enlist in serving their father land, based on community policing strategies as it is outlined by the national establishment in compliance with Federal Government directives. Also, appealing to youths in Bayelsa state to abstain from crime, stressing that it pays to be in peace than to be in pieces.
