It was jubilation galore as Omolara Akinbami Ojo becomes 3rd President of Rotary Club of New Lagos, Ikeja.

 

The colourful ceremony,  which took place last Saturday at Philjul Event Gallery, behind AP Filling Station, by Pen Cinema, Agege, Lagos,  also witnessed the induction of 12-man Board of Directors and committee chairpersons and presentation of awards to eminent and distinguished personalities.

 

Ojo in her remark at the event declared that it was a great honour and privilege to stand before the congregation as the 3rd President of Rotary Club of New Lagos, Ikeja..

 

She also appreciate her mentors in Rotary Club, as well as other members of the club, as well as friends who have exhibited various leadership styles worthy of emulation and have cumulatively shaped her life in Rotary.

 

She affirmed that she had full assurance that with members’ support, she would succeed going by the positive spirit that pervades the atmosphere  of Rotary Club of New Lagos, Ikeja.

 

“Let me use this opportunity to appreciate my mentors in Rotary Club, as well as other members of the club, as well as friends who have exhibited various leadership styles worthy of emulation and have cumulatively shaped my life in Rotary.  I have full assurance that with members’ support, I  would succeed going by the positive spirit that pervades the atmosphere  of Rotary Club of New Lagos, Ikeja”, Ojo said.

 

She also announced that the club will be focusing on water projects, donations of educational materials and teaching aids to school plus renovations for Health centres in the community among others for the year, adding that the association would be looking forward to donors and sponsors to help achieve the dreams

 

“For all these projects, we are looking forward to donors and sponsors to help us achieve these dreams”, ojo said.

 

She further stated that the club will not only have projects in Nigeria but also in the diaspora as some of the club members who are outside the shores of the country are extending the service of the Nigeria-based club to International Nations.

 

The Immediate Past President, Rotarian. Olumide Lawal congratulated the President, Lara Ojo as she takes the club to another level and assures total support for the course of the club.

 

The investiture ceremony  had in attendance over 50 Rotarians, Rotaractors, friends and guests of the club from Nigeria and different parts of the world.
